Stuntman / Actor /Writer / Producer / Director

Peter Kent is a Canadian actor, stuntman, writer, producer, and director whose career has been defined by adventure, resilience, and reinvention. Born in North Vancouver, British Columbia, he grew up along the rugged banks of the Seymour River, where his childhood was filled with daring exploits—navigating rapids, climbing towering trees, and inventing ever more thrilling ways to test his limits. Those early adventures fostered the fearless spirit that would later define his extraordinary career.

After surviving several serious car accidents in the early 1980s, one of which dramatically altered his appearance, Peter was often told he resembled Arnold Schwarzenegger. That twist of fate proved life-changing. In 1983, with little more than determination and ambition, he moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in film. Just six months later, while living at the YMCA on the Sunset Strip, he was given the opportunity of a lifetime: serving as Arnold Schwarzenegger’s stunt double in .

What began as a single opportunity evolved into a remarkable 13-year professional partnership. Peter doubled Schwarzenegger in 14 films, including iconic blockbusters such as  THE TERMINATOR, TOTAL RECALL, PREDATOR and T2: JUDGEMENT DAY. Beyond his on-screen work, their relationship grew into a close friendship, with Peter serving not only as Schwarzenegger’s stunt double, but also as his workout partner, ski companion, chef, confidant, and dialogue coach.

Over the course of his stunt career, Peter became one of the industry’s most respected and recognizable performers. His expertise and insight into action filmmaking naturally led him into writing, where he developed multiple action and comedy screenplays. He also authored his acclaimed autobiography, “STAND OR FALL: Autobiography of a Stuntman” offering a candid and compelling look at life behind the scenes in Hollywood.

After returning to Vancouver—often called “Hollywood North”—Peter expanded his creative pursuits as an actor, writer, producer, and director. He wrote, produced, and directed the independent short film “Bombmakers,” and founded ARK (Actors Reading for Kids) in honor of his late mother, Margaret. Through ARK and his educational outreach, he has inspired countless young people by teaching hands-on filmmaking and storytelling.

Peter also created and hosted the acclaimed behind-the-scenes television series “STUNTDAWGS” , an in-depth exploration of the stunt profession. The series earned him a Gemini Award for Excellence in Television in the Human Interest category and received widespread praise for its honest portrayal of the skill, precision, and courage required in stunt work.

In recognition of his outstanding contributions to the entertainment industry, Peter was inducted into the Hollywood Stuntmen’s Hall of Fame in 2009. Today, he remains deeply connected to the profession as the founder and head instructor of Peter Kent’s School of Hard Knocks in Vancouver, where he mentors the next generation of stunt performers.

A devoted husband and father, Peter married his wife, Marcia, in 2007. They welcomed twin sons, Ryder and Hunter, in 2009. Peter continues to bring the same passion, energy, and adventurous spirit to every aspect of his life and career.
